Sarah Dolittle, a typical teenage girl, discovers that she has inherited her father's ability to communicate with animals. Initially resistant to the idea, Sarah eventually embraces her gift and uses it to help the animals at her uncle's struggling nature preserve. At the preserve, she meets a diverse group of animals, each with their own unique personalities and challenges. As Sarah works to save the preserve from being turned into a shopping mall, she also learns valuable lessons about responsibility, friendship, and the importance of empathy towards all living creatures. With the help of her furry and feathered friends, Sarah embarks on a journey of self-discovery and adventure, ultimately proving that she is truly her father's daughter.
